Fete de la Musique

I know I haven't been posting much because

1)College stuff
2)I'm lazy

So in line with my laziness I shall copy-paste what CD -who did a review for one of her classes- wrote:

".........This has been the 6th year the Fete de le Musique has been held in Malaysia. Unfortunately this year's event sucks balls did not manage to achieve the level of success that its predecessors had. A month of planning proved insufficient as there is no organization that was displayed through the azzholez crew or organizers. Though the talents that performed during the festival were impressive, notably the band Bleeding Edge, but their music and talent is greatly overshadowed by bad sound and lighting. The stage is set but unfortunately the sound wasn't. The crowd wasn't at all energetic and the organizers failed to rouse them. What was supposed to be a musical festival that's supposed to bring people together turned into a karaoke show with bad sound. Extremely dull and not at all exciting, the music festival of 2008 is a failure."

So there you go, a nice review up their asses with a special metion of my band (who played impromptu stuff on stage, comments from friends ranged from: scary, cross between manson, system of a down and one buck short, karat and awesome, messed up but fuckin intriguing, makes me wana stab ppl). Sorry i cant post the video now as my cam is being a bitch so when im settled with it, it will be up. Meanwhile here's a pic of me sitting at the kit and doing I duno what

Bali!!

Yes yes! I know this has been loooong overdue, but still. Better late then never rite?? Hehe..

So, on the 14th (or was it 15th) of May, my dad drops a pleasant bomb saying that we leaving for Bali on the 18th. Imagine that! Four days to pack and shit and whatnot. Then the morning of 18th comes and we are hardly done packing and our flight's at 9.50 am. Somehow, in all the rush, we managed to shove everything into three bags and we're off! (My must do when I fly is to buy a book, so The Revenge of The Godfather it is this time)

We touched down in Bali at about 12.30 pm (local and Bali time, didn't know we were in the same timezone till I asked in the hotel). There was a driver waiting for us at the airport and off we were to Rama Garden Hotel, Legian.

The pathway to the hotel rooms.

Mine and my brother's room on top. We shared a room. And cigarettes. Without my parents knowing haha. Their room was right across. Shot taken from parents' room.

So, with all the hot sun, tiredness and lack of sleep, my brother knocks out in our room, while my parents and I decide to go for a walk to the beach. Beautiful beach, unfortunately one which I dont have pictures of :) Then on the way back from the beach (which is about a 3 minute walk), my mom decides to get a menicure done. And these Balinese ladies brainwash us to get a full body massage as well. So, we head back to the hotel and I got a pedi/menicure (Yes, I'm becoming metrosexual Kerp. All thanks to you :P) and an awesome full body massage.

Later, we went for dinner at an awesome Western food place thingy and ate awesome Western food thingy. We managed to call a guide and booked him for the next 2 days to take us around Bali. First day, we head to some places where the sell handicrafts and stuff at a pay-thru-your-ass-cause-you're-a-foreigner price. Despite speaking in Malay. Babi.

Then, we head to Kintamani. No, it's not some Indian chick la. It's a view of an active volcano (how active, I dunno). I'll let the pics speak.

The view, from the makan place. With my mom.

Despite the hot sun and freaking hecklers (is that the word?) heckling us to buy stuff, I really didn't wana leave this place, but good thing I did. Cause, right after Kintamani, we went to this temple in I-cant-remember-where. Because it was a full moon day and Wesak day, the Balinese had some special prayers thing going. And everyone dips themselves in this holy water thingy. Guys and girls. Massive wet t-shirt contest like. :D

Massive wet t-shirt contest.
More wet t-shirts..hehe

This pool is some kinda hot spring where water comes out of the ground and goes to the holy pool. Lol. Couldn't get clear shots of the water coming outta the ground tho.

Some pretty Bali chick.

Later that night, we went for dinner at Kuta. This was the place where the 2002 bombings took place and yet the place was filled with Mat Sallehs.. And chicks in bikinis. Yum yum. Had dinner and took a long, long, long walk back to the hotel. We passed by some awesome clubs and my brother and I decided to come a lil later, when the party picks up. Unfortunately, we were too tired to come back so we put off the plan for the next nite.
